R SOUTH AFRICAS POLICE GOOD COPS OR BAD COPS
There have been thousands of articles written about SOUTH AFRICAS police men and women and the thing is do people actually know about the changes that have taken place over the years in policing - there are article after article out there and the crime situation does not really improve and police officers are still losing their lives - but lately the tone of the press has been bad - because there is no way to mask mistakes with teh word collatoral damage - because if this is the case then there needs to be more training instead - you cannot deal with the situation in SOUTH AFRICA TODAY - by just shooting everyone out there - there are varied reasons that people commit crime especially with 40mil people whose needs are not being met - you cannot shoot all of them - so the things in the press - SHOOT TO KILL - DO NOT SHOOT TO KILL -mistakes have been made etc. are a problem -- lets not confuse the issue of a police officer faced with a barrage of bullets from a criminals gun in a shootout with mistakes made where people have been gunned down in their cars - there are articles in the press today - TAXI BOSSES - and taxi drivers - http://www.sundayindependent.co.za
there are other articles about POLICE OFFICERS LOSING THEIR lives in other papers and
the problem is two fold - should the POLICE OFFICER be forced to become JUDGE AND JURY without the person getting a trial - because this leaves a large margin for error on both sides and no one wants an innocent person dead either the member of the police or an innocent member of the public....
